We are going to switch

The OV-chipkaart is being phased out. OVpay is the new way to check in and out on public transport. You can use your debit card, credit card, mobile phone, or the new OV-pas. With OVpay, you can travel anywhere in the Netherlands by train, bus, tram, and metro. OVpay is the successor to the familiar OV-chipkaart. 

Our OV-chipkaart subscriptions will therefore be discontinued shortly. They will be replaced by new OVpay subscriptions. An added bonus: you no longer need to collect your OVpay subscription from a ticket machine. For convenience, switch to OVpay now, so you can continue to travel with us on a subscription in 2026.

Debet card or OV-pas?

With OVpay, you can choose which type of card you want to use to check in and out:
  • your physical debit card
  • your digital debit card on your mobile phone
  • your digital debit card on your smartwatch
  • your new physical OV-pas

 

All our subscriptions are available on both debit cards and the new OV-pas
 

Traveling with your debit card or credit card
Do you already pay contactless in stores, with your debit card or mobile phone? Then you don't need to do anything. You can use the same card or phone to check in and out. You can add both age discounts and subscriptions to your debit card. Topping up your balance is a thing of the past.

Traveling with your new OV-pas
The new OV-pas will soon allow you to do everything. Travel with an age discount, add a subscription, and in the future, even rent a public transport bicycle. The physical OV-pas costs €6 and is valid for 5 years. The OV-pas is available for purchase in the OVpay app or via the OVpay website.

The OV-pas currently works with all free travel subscriptions in Almere and will soon also work with discount products. The OV-pas doesn't yet work with for all subscriptions or travel products from other transport companies. But that is coming! This means that more and more is becoming possible. With which subscription on the OV-chipkaart do you travel now?

Go Almere Vrij Maand
Are you currently traveling with a Go Almere Vrij subscription? Then you can switch to the OVpay subscription: AllGo Vrij Stad. This is exactly the same monthly subscription, but via OVpay.

You can choose a one-time subscription that automatically ends after one month, or a ongoing subscription. The ongoing subscription has an important advantage: you don't have to take out a new subscription every month. You can travel carefree and cancel the subscription on a monthly basis. It's easy and flexible.

Are you currently traveling with a Go Senior Dal subscription? Then you can switch to the OVpay subscription: AllGo Vrij Dal Senior. This is exactly the same monthly subscription, but via OVpay.

The ongoing subscription has an important advantage: you don't have to take out a new subscription every month. You can travel carefree and cancel the subscription on a monthly basis. Randstad Noord Zone 1 star 4 to 18 year

Are you currently traveling with a Randstad North Zone 1-star subscription in Almere? Then there are the following new alternatives:


Travel on balance
Children aged 4 to 11 can travel with a 34% age discount. See this page for how to add an age discount to your debit card or OV-pas.
 

AllGo Voordeel Jeugd
Young people aged 12 to 18 can travel at a discount with these affordable balance bundles. The balance credit is valid for 1 month and allows you to travel with a 20% or 25% discount on all AllGo and Keolis R-net buses in and around Almere.
 

  • €50 credit for €40. If your credit runs out earlier, you can travel with a 20% discount for the rest of the month.
  • €75 credit for €56.25. If your credit runs out earlier, you can travel with a 25% discount for the rest of the month.


AllGo Vrij Stad 
Unlimited travel within Almere on all allGo and R-net buses. You can choose a one-time subscription that automatically ends after one month, or a continuous subscription. The ongoing subscription has an important advantage: you don't have to take out a new subscription every month. You can travel carefree and cancel the subscription on a monthly basis. It's easy and flexible.

Randstad Noord Zone 1 star from 19 years of age

Are you currently traveling with a Randstad North Zone 1-star subscription in Almere? Then there are the following new alternatives:
 

Travel on balance
Seniors aged 65 and over can travel with a 34% age discount. See this page for how to add an age discount to your debit card or OV-pas.​
 

AllGo 30% Korting
For €10 per month, you receive a 30% discount on all your balance trips, except during the morning rush hour. Valid on all allGo and Keolis R-net buses in and around Almere.


AllGo Vrij Stad 
Unlimited travel within Almere on all allGo and R-net buses. You can choose a one-time subscription that automatically ends after one month, or a continuous subscription. The ongoing subscription has an important advantage: you don't have to take out a new subscription every month. You can travel carefree and cancel the subscription on a monthly basis. It's easy and flexible.

Are you currently traveling with a Randstad North Zone subscription 3 stars or higher? Then you can switch to one of the following OVpay subscriptions: 

AllGo Vrij Stad en Streek
Do you only travel with your Randstad North Zone subscription on allGo and Keolis R-net buses and not with other transport companies? Then you will save money with the new AllGo Vrij Stad en Streek subscription. You can travel unlimited on all allGo and Keolis R-net buses in and outside Almere.

Randstad Noord Vrij
Do you travel to and from Almere with your Randstad Noord Vrij subscription on multiple transport operators in the region? Then choose Randstad Noord Vrij area 8. You can travel with it in Almere, Gooi & Vechtstreek, and to the center of Amsterdam.
